Definitely coming back! It's like stepping into the kitchen and having someone friendly whip up whatever you'd like. I'm a celiac & the owner grated a potato & made hash browns especially for my breakfast. She was careful with spices, too. My wife, who is not a celiac, had a biscuit with her Mt. Ellior scramble. She swears it was the best biscuit to be found on 101. Very comfortable deck seating out back with nice oldies music playing. Really good prices, too! I had steak & eggs. Perfectly cooked and delicious! We had let it slip out that it was our 26th anniversary when ordering. After our meal, the owner surprised us with delicious fresh homemade organic blackberry sorbet. Dessert after breakfast is awesome!!!
Awesome some place with delicious food
Best fish and chips I've ever had. Panko breaded. We drive an HR often to enjoy the food.
I love Kelsey's. Probably one of my most favorite places to eat in WA, their food I also super fresh and cooked to perfection. If you stop here you need to get their milkshakes which are all fresh ingredients right in front of you. The atmosphere and the personality here is just awesome.
Stumbled across this little gem after a little sightseeing yesterday. Man, we hit the jackpot! Homemade, great quality food. Normal menu of burgers and fries with added treats like sweet potato pancakes or waffles, fresh cod, salmon and clam chowder (father in law was raving up a storm about the chowder). All of our food was fresh and fantastic. The people were just as great. You can tell they put their heart into that place! You won't regret this stop, for sure.
Perfect post hike meal. Real milkshakes, hand pressed big burgers, great customer service. Will be going here for now on after Olympic Mountain Adventures!
Had great burgers there, although a bit pricey for a location so far outside of civilization :-)
best fish and chips i've had ....
I've been going to Kelsey's for about 4 years now. I love it! Never been disappointed. They make their own ice cream, their own soda and everything on their menu is organic, oftentimes local and for the most part homemade. Kelsey and her team are some of the nicest people you will meet. Highly recommend Kelsey's!
This is our second time coming here. We LOVE their homemade fries, yum! Got burgers this time & their homemade sodas. too much syrup in the sodas or not enough club soda but still very tasty! Love petting & picking up their wild chickens outside lol...
Awesome homemade food! The burger buns, ice cream, sodas and much more are made in house! They smoke their own bacon too! If it isn't made here you bet it's probably going to be something good anyway. The menu is top notch and the people are very friendly, we love to stop whenever we're in the area, it's not often you can find well made food with clean ingredients for a reasonable price.
After not eating much all day and traveling, we showed up to this place just a few minutes before closing😬 Feeling guilty, I asked if they were still serving food. They said of course, no problem at all! And were over the moon happy to serve us. They have vegan options too! And are more than happy to accommodate. It's rare you find someone who takes so much pride in their food. This lady has a true gift. Some of the best food we've ever ate! 😋 Fresh, all natural food and the best customer service I've experienced!
This unassuming place was a great surprise. Stopped here for a milkshake as we were driving down the Hood Canal. Ended up with Clam chowder as well. Both were exceptional and I saw more things on the menu I want to try. We'll be back.
Interesting little place, lots of options on the menu with breakfast served all day. Watch for the chickens on your way in and out.
Cute Ma and Pa restaurant with a convenient take out window. Great place good vibe!
Pricey, wish it wasn't so all natural would like to have a coke with my burger. The burgers are great though and the ice cream is great too.
Out visiting the Olympic Peninsula to hike and see some sights. Kids got hungry, decided to check out Kelsey's as one kid was asking for Fish and Chips. Food tasted good, the french fries (chips) were home style so they are a little darker than some in a chain restaurant but the kids ate them all up. None left over for Dad to snatch up the leftovers. Big portions for food. Burgers were well made and worth the cost. Neat little joint to stop on the side of the 101.
Ridiculously cute w chicken walking around and hand carved scilptures. Delicious food, made from scratch w fresh, local seafood. Fanstastic.
We always take the drive here when ice cream cravings hit. They have amazing, homemade ice cream and lots of flavors, both classic and creative! They run out of the popular ones sometimes (like the salted caramel) so get here early to ensure lots of options. Every flavor I've had doesn't disappoint. The friendliest customer service too!
The outside is so cute and appealing, but the inside is cluttered feeling and smelly. Beside the sweet potato fries, i would say the food was mediocre at best. I am sad to say i regret stopping in and i am afraid of the night ahead.
Fried fish sandwich, veggie burger with actual veggies, onion rings, and not-too-sweet homemade sodas - just the thing for a Hood Canal road trip.
Great place. Great food. The people running it were super nice. Everything on the menu was home made in house and tastes awesome. Try the homemade soda! Worth the drive!
Great service coupled with a delicious teriyaki chicken sandwich and the most creamy biscuits n' gravy I've ever had.
Delicious food! This place was a great surprise for us and the owner was nice. Good vegetarian options and the burger was good. Try the blackberry shake!!!!
Very nice down to earth restaurant. Healthy food, all handmade with the finest ingredients, large portions, and very affordable. Freshest eggs, and indoor or several outdoor private cozy seating areas. I would highly recommend this natural restaurant to all.
Lovely menu, excellent location, crazy low prices. .. coffee is soooo good!!! But our pancakes weren't cooked all the way. Otherwise it's 5 stars!
Kelsey's takes great care to make amazing fresh food. My favorite place to stop on hwy 101.
This is a great place to eat! It may look a little downtrodden, but the food was delicious and the service was great! We had the Fish and Chips and holy cow, the serving size was HUGE! Definitely a great spot!
This is a GEM! Friendly people, excellent service, best food at very reasonable prices. Burgers were Juicy not greasy.
One of the best places we have ever eaten. The biscuits and gravy are amazing! We ordered steak and eggs and pancakes too. If you are in the area, you have to visit. You will not be disappointed. Best bday/father's day meal for sure. Wish we didn't live so far away. My wife would be here every day lol
This is a quirky little restaurant offering a few breakfast options and a larger selection of sandwiches. Service can be slow because they make things like hashbrowns and french fries to order "from potatoes" (not pre-prepped). It's popular for take-out but they also have some seating in an open covered area (with heating in chilly weather) and outside, if the weather is good. The building itself has some interesting native-style carvings and some random artwork around. There are chickens wandering freely on the premises including a couple of strutting roosters.
Loved this place! We played board games while waiting for our food. It was great to see the free range chickens running around and know that's where the eggs I'm was eating are from.
Pleasantly surprised. I found everything I would want, organic, and healthy. There was a kind helpful woman staffing the outdoor window.
Tasty food, generous portions, kind people, and the chickens made great dining company.
Decent food. Very nice people. We ordered the 4 piece fish and chips, as well as the 222 which was 2 buttermilk pancakes, 2 sausages, and 2 eggs. Both were good.
Excellent food excellent staffHomemade buns Fresh fish and chips!Incredible ice cream and we were given so much attention Prices are right we eat here weekly.
Awesome eats! Are you kidding me! The homemade Spumoni ice cream was great!
Quirky roadside stop. Great food *burgers *fresh cut russet potato fries *fish n chip, king salmon dinner... FYI: flavored drinks are served un-carbonated and no high fructose corn syrup. Service is hit or miss depending on when you stop and who is working. Worth the wait if you stop on one of those days.12/2018 update:WOW! Buttermilk(the best ever according to my Mid-Western Father-in-law)or sweet potato pancakes and real maple syrup with the best darned bacon you've ever had served! Gluten Free? The French fried potatoes are fresh cut and they have a "Protein Style" option for a beautifully leaf lettuce wrapped burger or other sandwich item. This place doesn't really seem have much for vegan or dairy free options.
Great service, wonderful, home cooked food, clean.
The homemade soda is tasty. The food is fresh and very good. The owners and employees are just good people and make you feel like party of the family. And they take very good care of you. You honestly can't ask for anything more.
One of my favorite stops after hiking or backpacking around the Hood Canal area. No matter what I've had it has been great. Don't stop if you are in a rush though, they are frequently busy and will get a bit backed up. But the food is worth the wait. Recently had the Cubano, very tasty, but do not plan on eating it as a sandwich. Was so juicy, the bottom bun just disintegrated.
Pretty fair price, great portions, amazing California burger and really friendly and fast service.Would give 5 stars but the soda was kinda weird and flat and they didn't have beer after a long hike :/
Seriously best burger I've every had! And I live in Seattle, and Seattle has some damn good burgers!
Fish and Chips were great but the other meals were only OK.
Stopped in for fish n chips on our way to Port Townsend. We were greeted by 5 silky chickens. The food was awesome. Got some prawns that were just so sweet and yummy. I have to swing by again next trip for the crepes.
Love everything there! The food can be slow, but it's delicious and all home made. Try the cheeseburger!!
Best clam chowder I've had. The king Salmon was excellent as well. Well worth it he money. GREAT little place to eat.
One of the best burger spots this side of Washington. If you are ever close enough to stop here the service is exemplary. Food amazing. Atmosphere one of a kind. Not to mention easy on the pocket book!! Can't miss it.
Update September 2017: sadly had to massively downgrade stars/review; the fish is consistently overcooked and dry now, and the wait is an eternity. Sometimes it's just one guy running around trying to do everything himself and I really feel sorry for him. They really need to hire more and train the new cooks. Sometimes the food is uneven but most of the time it's so fresh, with many homemade and organic components. The fish and chips and sweet potato fries are divine. The cubano sandwich was exceptional. The best food we've had in Mason county for quite a while. I'd bring out of town guests here 😃 4.5 stars, rounded up for ambience and artesian well water.
The nicest folks you'll ever find cooking up great food. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and ice cream treats - so any time of day you have an excuse to stop in. The fries are absolutely some of the best I've ever had. We drive this route often and always stop in for a burger or ice cream cone. They cook up everything fresh but it's always quick, so they'll have you back on the road if you're in a hurry, but they also have picnic tables to eat at. Highly recommend this little local spot!
